Coding Metrix Announces a New Release for Online Education and Assessments to Ensure Proper Reimbursement for Pain Management

The Pain Management Curriculum, developed in collaboration with well known pain management expert Marvel Hammer RN, CPC, CCS-P, PCS, ACS-PM, CHCO, is a comprehensive training program that provides users with in-depth information on the most frequently performed pain management procedures and services. The curriculum begins with an overview course that provides the user with basic principles and key terms for pain management.  The second course, Pain Management Patient Visits, covers coding principles for visit services, including consultations, office/outpatient visits, and related services.   Next, Diagnosis Coding covers the proper assignment of ICD-9-CM diagnosis codes for the conditions for which pain management specialists commonly provide services.  Spinal Procedures I and II present the procedure coding guidelines for diagnostic and therapeutic spinal injections.  The fifth course in the curriculum, Other Chronic Pain Injections, presents coding guidelines for trigger point injections, peripheral nerve blocks, and related services.  The Implanted Pumps and Neurostimulators course covers implanted infusion pumps as well as spinal and peripheral neurostimulators.  Finally, the Other Chronic Pain Procedures course covers the billing guidelines for drugs, nerve conduction studies, EMGs and other miscellaneous pain services.

Elsevier/MC Strategies and Coding Metrix Announce a New Alliance for Online Coding Education and Assessment Solutions

E-learning partnership will launch six new courses by January 2009

Atlanta, GA. – October 31, 2008Elsevier/MC Strategies (EMCS), a leader in healthcare e-learning, has partnered with industry expert Coding Metrix to deliver comprehensive, online training courses that focus on educating specialty coders. This unique e-learning partnership will present directors and managers with a cost effective, convenient alternative to traditional offsite education for their coding staff .Delivered through Elsevier/MC Strategies’ Learning Management System (LMS), the Coding Metrix courses offer on-line skills development using dictated reports and interactive learning exercises that allow users to gain a complete understanding of the coding requirements within each specialty.

The Elsevier/MC Strategies and Coding Metrix alliance is slated to launch six new e-learning products between November 2008 and January 2009. On November 5, 2008, the companies will debut their initial, highly anticipated course offering, Interventional Radiology. A staged launch of the remaining five courses will follow, including Invasive Cardiology, Radiation Oncology, Diagnostic Radiology, Pain Management and Medical Oncology.

Elsevier/MC Strategies' clients will have the opportunity to include this coding education as part of their existing or new online training programs. NOW APPROVED FOR RCC CEUS!RCCB
Collectively Metrix Radiology curriculums are now approved for a total of 102 RCC CEUs!

*The Radiology Coding Certification Board has accepted the Diagnostic Radiology program for a total of 57 hours and the Interventional Radiology program for a total of 45 hours of continuing education credits towards RCCB recertification.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: (Atlanta, G.A. – August 8, 2007) - Coding Metrix, Inc. is pleased to announce that the RCCB has granted approval of 57 CEU credits (total) for the online Diagnostic Radiology Curriculum. Radiology Certified Coders (RCCs) will now receive an average of 6 hours per Diagnostic Radiology course towards RCCB recertification.

Metrix users may also earn their RCC CEUs by taking the Interventional Radiology courses, as it has also been granted approval for 45 CEUs credits (total).
